The anthology consists of three parts. The first - poetic - in turn consists of four parts: the first presents nursery rhymes, the second presents chronologically the most famous poems by children's poets, the third presents the most famous eccentric and satirical poems by the classics, the fourth consists of limericks. The second part presents various retellings of English folk tales, and the third consists of extensive excerpts from prose works. Overall, US literature is presented in a smaller volume than English.
