Derek Franklin, steeplechase jockey who is side-lined following a disagreement with the last fence at Cheltenham, finds himself pitchforked into a maelstrom of dangers following his elder brother's sudden death. Derek has to summon all his reserves of stamina to identify his brother's enemies.
